Raw Class — Real People

We are casual people. Going out to the bar after work to have a few laughs over drinks and shake off the stress of the week is how we got to know each other. We both feel good in jeans and a t-shirt; it's that combination of blue collar, artist, rock 'n' roll confidence and comfort that says "I'm a real person".

Our jewelry started as experimentation in rare, historical techniques on alternative materials because, frankly, we were bored to tears with traditional jewelry. Soon we were going out wearing pieces we had made, surprising each other with subtle, incredible textures and hues we had never seen on any jewelry before. Blended with comfort on our skin and sultry clinks on our glasses of scotch, we began to feed off each other's creations, unsatiated as the experiment grew into a living thing that is Combs & Amann. 

Jamie is an experienced bench jeweler that graduated from the Gemological Institute of America who sits on local artist boards and consults local artists on ways to improve their businesses. 

Dustin worked his way through a traditional apprenticeship under a local master goldsmith, then branched into blacksmithing and traditional Japanese metalsmithing. 

Combined, we have 20 years of metalsmithing experience with a breadth of skill and knowledge rare in today's jewelry industry. 

We are both traditional goldsmiths with extensive experience in fine jewelry customs and repairs who crave creating pieces that defy the common — pieces that are unique, beautiful and durable — but more importantly, pieces that make you feel like a badass whether at the bar or at the gala.
